Trickenfeets
Aidan loved "tricken feets" this year. He got to wear his "scary dinosaur" to the library, the Zoo, the McKinley museum, and around the neighborhood.

Fall Fesitval Aidan style
We went with Chris to the Bob Evan's fall fest thing this year. Aidan loves the hayride, the pumpkins, the kettle corn and the fire. This year they had horses! Besides trying to eat his weight in kettle corn Aidan rode the horses for half and hour. He loved the horses and still talks about them. He also enjoyed the face painting. He says "Lady paint it spider"

September
Labor Day was tons of fun! Aidan got to go fishing, play corn hole and take a hay ride. He loves Rich's boat and talks about "Rich go in Boat" all the time. The other day he told me he was skiing in his crib.

This summer there were Dinosaurs at the Cleveland Zoo. We took several trips to visit them. Aidan showed them to Dad, Munga, Toot, Mia, and Andie and Abbie. He knows all their names and tells anyone who will listen. We had to say goodbye to the Dinosaurs in September...they won't be there next year.

We got great seats to the last Indian's game of the season and took Aidan. He enjoyed his time there. Next time though we are going on Dollar Dog night. He kept asking for more Hot dog!
He still talks about giving Slider a "high fives"

New fun stuff
August with Aidan:

Aidan loves making cookies. Every time it rains he asks to "mix cookies". He also loves "If you give a Mouse a cookie" and asks to read "Cookie one" (then he wants one!)
Uncle Bill and Aunt Linda stopped by in August. Aidan was fascinated with "Uncle Bill breathing". Thought the nebulizer was GREAT!. We took some great 4 generation pictures. Aidan was thrilled to "Cheeese"

We also discovered how funny golfing with Aidan is. He put all the balls in the wholes. If you take Aidan golfing don't plan on keeping score.

Aidan's world
I had forgotten the imaginations that little boys have. Aidan continually reminds me of a little guy in a cape I used to know... He has such an active imagination. We went down to the river and he "fished" for a long time. He kept telling me what the fish looked like and how big it was.
Later I asked him to tell someone what we say at the river. The conversation went something like this:
Mommy: What did we see at the River?
Aidan: Amnimals
Mommy: What kind of animals did you see?
Aidan: (thinks a bit) Lions!
HA! I guess in his little head they were there.
Yesterday we went to Whole Foods where Aidan ate "Lepard" meat balls... His first choice was horse. (sigh) I suppose I should be thrilled that he is not a picky eater....
Today he decided that he wanted "Waterlemon" for lunch. I think my favorite part of having a two year old is the words he says. He wanted a "big waterlemon" and ate 4 pieces. The best part is the way he enuncates all his words, so it comes out "Wa Ter Lem on" too cute.

Cookie fun
A few days ago it rained... Of course we needed something to do that didn't involve taking Oliver, Push, and Mix outside. So w made cookies. Aidan got to sit on the counter and "dump" the ingredients into the mixer (go 'round rrrr). He enjoyed licking the paddle and scooping the dough on to the cookie sheet. He stood by the over and watched the cookies bake (watch out Hot! Hurt you) then he helped count the cookies as we flipped (lip!) them onto a towel (to Let Cool). After all that fun when I gave him one to try he spit it out and asked for blueberrys. Oh well...More for me.

Calamari Fun!
I continue to be surprised at the variety of foods Aidan eats. Every time I think he's not going to like something he surprises me. Cooking with Aidan is a riot. He's thrilled to push buttons, stir and mix ingredients and "taste it!" He pulls a chair over to the counter and watches everything. His favorite food word is spicy. He say "picey"
Today we made calamari for dinner. He enjoyed watching the entire process and decided we were eating octopus. Of course he had to taste some. Tasting quickly became eating lots of "ocpus" with dip no less.
I just had to take some pictures of this new food experiance. (See below) Lest anyone think Aidan is not pickey allow me to state the following:
Hot dogs must be served plain- no bun and only catsup for dip
Bread must have lemon curd on it
All food must be at the propper temperature or he won't eat it- even after it cools

Summer Vaca Fun
We have loved having Ben home for the Summer. In June we went to 3 zoos in one week, Deer Park, and had a fun Father's day.
Aidan is talking sooo much lately; three word phrases and commands. Much fun!!!!
I took lots of pictures and have finally gotten them on the computer. He makes me laugh everyday.

Posting Delay
It's been so long since I updated the blog- sorry.
I have been feeling really sick with this pregnancy and not knowing why.
Today was my first OB appointment and the Babies are fine! Yup Babies!
We are shocked, surprised, excited and shocked.
Interestingly knowing why I am so sick does not make me feel less sick. :) So looking foward to the end of June and no more "coughing" as Aidan says.
I haven't been taking pictures because I feel so bad- need an Aidan fix? just look at the old pics for awhile- I promise to take more as soon as i feel better.
In the meantime enjoy the following:

21 months... and counting
Despite having a cold this week, Aidan is his usually happy, busy self. He is throwing new words into his vocabulary everyday. He wowed us the other day asking for dad's "Keeys". Now he has his own lanyard with a key that he wears when he eats. (I have no idea why you need keys to eat.. but apparently you do.)
His repetor of animal sounds is growing as well. I can't wait for it to be warm enough to go to the zoo and look at all the animals he knows. He clicks like a dolphin, moos like a cow, and stomps like an elephant.
He also has discovered puppets. He says., "Boy," to get me to hand him his Pinocchio and Raggedy Andy puppet. "No" has also made an appearance- but he only says it in response to a question.
Ben asks "How did we get this kid"
His little nose is all sore and runny but he brings us a Kleenex and asks us "Nose?" so we will wipe it for him. (Yes, I am bragging)
reading is still a favorite activity. AND we have reading rules (all his)
1. I am not allowed to read "Hand Hand Fingers Thumb" (Only Dad can)
2. In order to read Dr. Seuss' ABC's Aidan must have:
a. His Alligator (Aunt Annie's Alligator A...a...A
b. His Rhinoceros (Rosy's riding on her red rhinoceros)
3. the cat must only sit on Mom's right leg. The left leg is Aidan's
4. the command, "Ree" must always be accommodated.
We have been taking lots of pictures lately. He likes to look at the lcd after we take them. He trys to look through the view finder too. Uncle Chris, there's a picture just for you, Can you find it??

Play days
Aidan is almost 2- and we can tell.
He helps me unload the dishwasher, fold laundry, and sweep.
We made a tent- he loves it.
